What is IELTS
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an international English language test that is necessary for students whose mother tongue is not English and who are going to do either undergraduate or postgraduate studies in English-language courses. IELTS examines whether a candidate has the necessary level of English to interact in the English-speaking university environment.
What is included in the examination?
All candidates are tested in the skills of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speech. The total time required for the examination is estimated at approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.
IELTS test score
The examination is designed to cover the level of each candidate from basic to very advanced. Applicants receive an overall band score on a scale of 0 to 9 as the lowest and highest level respectively. Most universities accept grades between 6 and 7 as satisfactory for their prospective students.
